CBD, our magical, (not so) secret ingredient
What is it? Why do we put it in our bars? Why would you want to use it?
Well, short answer, CBD is great for lots of things. It can be useful in helping treat all these ailments according to Project CBD, one of the largest CBD info sites on the web (https://www.projectcbd.org/about/what-cbd)
inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, arthritis, diabetes, alcoholism, MS, chronic pain, schizophrenia, PTSD, depression, antibiotic-resistant infections, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders.
(Feel free to click those links above to see some of the research behind those claims.)
Seems like its mostly medicinal purposes. Why did you put it in an energy bar?
Well, glad you asked. A couple of those are things that apply to almost everybody, at least in some capacity. In particular: reducing anxiety, pain, and inflammation, and helping you focus and avoid distraction. In the Grind Bar, we use only 10mg per bar which is in the microdose zone (very small amount) which is showing to be helpful for all of these things, especially anxiety and focus.
So that's the short answer, but if you're still interested in learning more, feel free to check out these documentaries about CBD and cannabis in general:
CNN’s special on CBD and the story of Charlotte’s Web and its treatment of childhood epilepsy (part 1 of 4):
One of the best documentaries on the history of the cannabis plant, “The Union"
The follow up to that looking at more of the cultural aspects and why it’s still illegal “the Culture High”
If you’re only going to watch one, watch the one below. It’ll rock your world.
That's just the trailer, here's the link to the full version: http://watchdocumentaries.com/the-culture-high/
And if you watch all those and still have more questions, you can check out our podcast, CBD Radio (www.cbdradio.ca) and Project CBD (www.projectcbd.org) which I mentioned before, which is by far the most comprehensive site on CBD out there.
Hope that helps!
